The IRS has released the 2011 inflation adjusted amounts that may be
contributed to health savings accounts (HSAs). Contributions
to HSAs are deductible in determining adjusted gross income, which
effectively allows taxpayers with highdeductible health insurance to
make contributions on a pretax basis to cover health care costs. For
calendar year 2011, the annual limitation on deductions for HSAs for an
individual with self-only coverage under a high deductible health plan
is $3,050 ($6,150 for an individual with family coverage). These are
